Lightning in a bottle May 24th 2008!!! : There are not enough words to explain the intensity, unity, and vision of this event. As much as I would have taken as much coverage of the event as my 256mb ScanDisk would have allowed until the DAMN battery went out, I would have taken so many more pictures of the night...It would have been so memorable and sooo cool to show all of you who have no idea about this amazing event how unbelievable it was... Special thanks to those who put on the event and all the talent and artists who perfomed...As for the community... it would not be what it was with out the people like you there. Lightning in a Bottle!!! May 2008 (three day Memorial Weekend Festival in Santa Barbara!!!) THe SHIT!!!!!

"GROW" presented by Sacred Grounds & ELEVATE- 3/15/2008 : hey everybody- thanks for coming out on Saturday night...I wanted to shoot out a review of how the party went down: So we spent the entire day setting up the venue, doing sound checks, everything promoters should do beforehand...We worked for about 6 hours and we were confident that everything was in line.... The party started off a little slow, and right around 11:30 people started pouring in... Carlos started the night off proper..I checked the mixer while he was playing and he was at 123bpm--right where an opening dj should be...he played a smooth vibey set, very appropriate for the time he played... Zack Hill was on next and played great. Zack's been playing for years and it shows in his music selection, programming and mixing--it would have been nice to hear him play a little bit later, but he was a team player and played the 11-12 spot without so much as a grumble....he played the perfect set and I enjoyed the tracks he was dropping. Lou played 12-1...the room had filled up nicely and the vibe started kicking in. Lou took the baton from Zack and went with it...We had some electrical issues, during Lou's set..but quickly got them resolved---Lou being the vet that he is kept his cool and once the sound was up picked it up as if nothing happened... JT hopped on the decks at 1am...and was beautiful!! I'm really proud of my boy--we've had a chance to see him grow over the years, and in the past 2 years especially, I feel he has really progressed into the solid dj that he now is. So JT worked it out HARD...there was a serious vibe in the room--people hootin and hollering--I looked around and I saw the whole room in sync...it was great! A little too great unfortunately....some of the peeps working the front came and grabbed me and told me the cops were outside... I went outside and spoke with the cops, who were actually being cool. I told them we were doing a private going away party for our friend Corporal JT (*wink) who was leaving for Iraq. They weren't having it. They said they understood, but it was too late and they had received numerous sound complaints---2:15 am and we had to shut it down... I went up to JT and told him we had to cut it...he played for an hour and fifteen minutes(out if the 2 hours he was supposed to)..it sucked, but it could have been worse...only Wobs and myself didn't play out of the main room lineup.... The Galactic Disco lounge was fresh too...we decked it out with crazy decor, Kenji and company had a really cool vibe going on in there(Disco, cool 80's b sides, etc)...I'm not sure if Dewey or Junior got to play----I was really looking forward to hearing Junior's set...so I'm kind of bummed out about that one... All in all a good party considering the circumstances, really good vibe, great music, good sound...it was disappointing that we had to shut it down early, but people were actually very understanding... We'll keep you posted on all future events--thanks to all of you who supported--till next time... -NF

Party in the Park July 22, 2007 : Hey guys...Okay, so... to all of you who came out yesterday for the Park Party, THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!!! It was such an awesome experience playing out for the first time and having all of you who were able to make it out to the Park Party make life that much more meaningful in so many ways. All of the Dj's that played at the park, MAnny, J.P & Rhines, M3 and the Bodyrock djs!!!! (All tore it the eff up! Especially the Bodyrock dj's SET!!! AAAAmmmaaaaZING!!!!), and especially to those people who came for my set... (gettin up that early musta been such a biatch! hehehe, but thank you), You guys mean so much to me! I felt many happy vibes from everyone there... The many music lovers, supporters, hula hoop dancers, drummers, smokers, drinkers, kids, toddlers, newborn babies, dogs, and esp. J.P.'s parot was a special touch!Thank you to Marty, who threw down the best vegan food, chicken, meat and ribs on a pita! The best park party food I've ever had!! :P Most of all, BIG thanks to Benjamin and Marcus who were able to allow us with the best location for a park party. Great people, food, sound, music, and overall atmosphere with over 400 strong!!!Thank you Bodyrock dj's for hosting the best Party in the Park this Summer!

Sirens roared through the room introducing our main talent of the night, WOBS and NONFICTION. These OC guys brought the pain for all of those who attened. Around 4am the HAWT crew "showed us what they got" and closed the night out at 6am. Thanks again to all of you who dressed up, showed some love, posed for the camera, tipped the bar peeps, danced thier asses off, and made HAWT what it was that night!!! :P Till next time.. FOCUS 3rd DANCE COMPETITION 7/18/2006 : I got there at around 11am and still... there was a huge line out the door! I walked inside the joint and it was like never seen before. Focus was off the chain last night!!! There were so many stylish peeps, awesome dancers, dope ass music by (JOSH BILLINGS, WOBS, and NONFICTION), and friends galore! The music went perfect with every catagory, (Housers, Breakers, and Poppers). Congrats to all the winners who were announced last night. You guys definatly bring some madddd competition out. Other than that, much thanks to the dj's for playing some awesome cuts last night, thanks esp. to Josh Billings for allowing such a special event prosper at FOCUS (TAPAS), and thanks to all the judges and the party peeps who helped support and judge the event! You guys are sooo freaking AWESOME!!!

DOC MARTIN @ FOCUS 6/6/2006 : This night was defiantly a night to remember at FOCUS. Aside from the packed dance floor, fashionable people, awesome talent, great friends, acquaintances, groove-circles, CAMEL promoters and more, this night was (like I said…) defiantly a night to remember. The most inspiring DJ NONFICTION held the decks strong with a crowd pleasing , “dance your ass off to some unheard of grooves.” Then, at the stroke of midnight the infamous DOC MARTIN....IN OC for this second appearance this year, but for an 18+ crowd, put it down better than ever (styles to please every music lover)! Although a slow start, Andrea opened the night up perfectly with her cute stlye on the decks along with her eyebrow-raising tracks that began the vibe just right! THE BEATDOWN : 5/25/2006 : Come one and come all!! This party blew the spot in Orange County!! Buy one wrist band and gain entry into two well known venues in Costa Mesa!! Detroit Bar served up a beating with House music icons DJ SNEAK, WALLY CALLERIO (Happy Birthday)!!, Miles Maeda, Cory Wells, Wobs and Nonfiction. At the Avalon Bar they brought the pain with infamous hip hop guests Cocoe, Josh One, Jud Nester, and Scotty Coats! Thanks to Wally's mom for the AMAZING trays of Argentina Empanadas!!! Those, if you had the chance to grab one, were the SHIT!! Overall, all dj's performed immaculately!!! And DJ Sneak as always (in freakin OC) Fucked shit up with his unique and exquisite rompin' style!! Thank you sOOOO much to all who made this event possible in particular, the Digibag and ELEVATE Crews!!! (You all know who you are). NONFICTION's 28th Suprise Birthday : May 14, 2006 Dear Friends, First and foremost, I would like to thank each and everyone of you who attended the intimate gathering at our place last night. The surprise was a huge success and so much fun! I woke up around 10am this morning awake but tired. I downloaded the pictures, which I will have up shortly and stepped out of my room. I took a look at the aftermath of "it" all and really, really, reallllly became so appreciative and satisfied with life. “Like everything in life is A-fuckin' O-kay.” ;P Having each and everyone of you attend the party meant so much to both of us. To be able celebrate Jose's 28th surprise birthday party has pretty much altered my aspect on life greatly. Having the opportunity to experience close and supportive friendships, for the soul purpose in celebrating an individual who loves the “scene” whole-heartedly, and who dedicates so much of his time and energy to flourish in his DJing career, to produce, to educated and to expand the house community especially in OC, has allowed me to realize how honestly thankful I am for allowing me to be apart of you! Thank you for allowing me to experience what special and unique attributes, qualities, friendships and support that we all continue to experience each time together. ELEVATE III 4/6/06 : OMG!!! Was this party one of the best parties in OC in a LLLLoooonnnggggg time, and dude... The talent, the support and the vibe set the night off with the debauchery and good times that were originally intended. Thanks to DOC MARTIN for throwing down a full on 3 hour set of body and mind-controlling tunes from funky, deep, and classic house. Thanks to Wally Callerio who started off the night perfectly. Thanks also to ShaggE’s funk, disco, reggae, and hip hop set! Brian Thomas… OMG!! This mutha’ played like I’ve never seen him play before! Thanks dogg, you rocked your set with some of the best records and cd’s that made the night a BLAST!!! Lastly, WOBS and NONFICTION threw the top “tag team” set in the second room and boooooyyyy was that room bumpin! Lasting beats of bumpin, chugging, “hype”, and melodic house ended ELEVATE III right! Overall, the energy, the smiles, and the dancing peeps galore made this night a “night to remember”. Thanks again to the ELEVATE STAFF especially (NONFICTION, WOBS, and Brian Thomas). Gretchen, Joclyn, and Luis, thanks for holden up the door.
